As you probably will not speak to me shall I write this email on my native language, which you guys are always struggling to understand in Estonia, let me do it slightly other way round and express my feelings in English, which you just have to understand, and speak fluently by working together with your American colleagues.
This email is regarding the latest Flash mob action taken place in Narva, “celebrating” something like World Condom’s Day.
Basically, don’t get me wrong, as I do not have any objections regarding your work or initiatives, and at some point I appreciate things what you are doing for education etc…but, there is one negative feeling about the latest one…
And the thing is, using a very young age kids there? What was the point of it? I mean, again, don’t get me wrong, people are dancing and it all look quite corky, but kids….primary school kids….and a dancing condom….together?
Don’t you guys think, that this all was a bit out of boundaries?
Let’s look at the situation from a different angle. You have a kingsize lady and a dancing condom as a frontline leaders, it looks just smashing and funny already, fair enough, good move.
Now, who is there behind them….have a look at that child just behind your dancing hero-condom? How old is she?
Nine, ten maybe…and what does she doing there, dancing together with a condom? For a quick experiment, let’s take everyone away from there in your imagination…and we will leave just a dancing condom and that 9 years old, doing it together. Would that be funny? What message to the members of public she would send by doing it? “Please use the condom when you are raping me”…would that be the one? Just one year passed since we all had a massive tragedy hit our town, when the same age girl was abducted, raped and killed, and the scum who did it, still walking in the crowd along us…
Is it really necessary to use such a very young people in your projects? Is that the only thing what kids must think about in their lifes now? Maybe they can be more involved in sport or culture, or maybe in saving the rare nature creatures on this planet, worrying about their age kids starving in Africa,ecology…you know, just comparing with worrying about dying junkyes, gays…prostitutes,one night stays, instead of being with one partner for a long time, in who you are sure about….?
Take a look at the rest of the group. Majority of them are just kids, older of course, than this child, but still kids. What message they are sending to the people around, and who is their auditory? You have to excuse me, but in my opinion it DOES look like a hidden pro-paedophilic action, targeting either kids, or unstable psychos. There is absolutely nothing about education, or any other positive task you are chasing, by arranging such things in public places.
Again, it DOES look like that the task been given to someone local, to arrange this all, in a very short time. The fat lady and a dancing condom did not have any time or not being educated enough themselves, to find suitable age people, who could really be usefull, or who could at least understand what is all this about, like college students for example. Yes, it will of course take more time to find people that age who would be interested to participate, as a fat lady and dancing condom would then have to use their skills, leadership, and brains to find those people.
Instead of that we are going straight to the primary school, and pushing kids to participate, throwing some (excuse me again) bullshit in their ears. As in this age, kids are more likely to be led by some idiots (not meaning you of course), just because they cannot analize things, and as a result, they just trust to beatiful pictures and words – we have the result. Easily done, people upstairs are happy, task finished.
We have a bunch of primary school girls age 9 to 15, who don’t even really know why they are in there, and what they are doing, “kind of dancing” behind a massive elefant size condom and a fat lady, sending unclear message to god knows who and again, god knows why…..
Please guys, if you are arranging something, take a time to find suitable candidates for your tasks. Don’t rush on things, and please stop using little ones, to achieve your targets,at some aspects what they should not really worry about. There are plenty of other people, who I am sure would help you out, it just takes a bit more time, and skills to find them.
